The Lockdown Lowdown

Before you read any further, please have in the back of your mind
that this article is NOT intended to offend.
This is my own personal way to get my frustrations out and to of course help those in need.
Read on to maybe feel a little bit more human.
NEW LOCKDOWN ADDED by Trina Leah
It’s been announced that we are now officially in lockdown AGAIN! Yes, it’s annoying, yes lots of you would probably rather watch the grass grow than be stuck at home with nothing to do.
Not to mention the “little darlings” that you brought into the world.
We love them yes; doesn’t mean we want to spend every waking moment, dealing with their temper tantrums and them making you look incredibly stupid, when you can’t help with their maths sheet (designed for a 5 year old) – I am one of those people!
I love my children and partner dearly (I swear) but there are only so many bickering matches that I can referee, without wanting to commit murder!
Between the mountains of unidentifiable rubbish/food/clothes in there ‘shit pit’ bedrooms and the dog taking it upon himself to want to play for 23 hours a day, I’m getting a touch of cabin fever”.
The permanently sulking, pouty faces that the kids are donning daily, makes me think a prison sentence, may actually be more fun.
“Put the kettle on please babe” only elicits the LOUDEST eyeball roll ever witnessed, you’d think I’d have poured concrete in their shoes by the sounds of the overly exaggerated way that they stomp around. Do they really think that I enjoy having to ‘cop a feel’ with the fella in secret as I slip past him on the staircase? Do they think I enjoy seeing how long I can hold my breath under the bath water, just for 60 seconds of peace? (It would be longer if I didn’t have the lung capacity of a 2 year old)

One thing that has mystified me over the last year though, the sheer amount of “learning activity packs” that have cropped up everywhere. I think it’s wonderful that the nation is trying to help out but, I do ask myself if any of these businesses/individuals are qualified to compile such things. Also, whilst I come to think of it, there are THOUSANDS of free downloadable colouring sheets… why spend out for things that you really don’t need!?
Where do I start? by Trina Leah

Here at A Touch of Shopping, we don’t pretend to know it all, nor do we exclusively deal with “just shopping” With 2 parents to 5 children and a School Teacher who has taught hundreds and tutors many more. Our little team have compiled a few sites that are completely FREE and should enable you to help your little ones, with their home schooling,  in a way more akin to the classroom.
We realise that these websites will only help those of primary school age, so over the next week, we'll be sharing some of our own coping techniques and more sites for those in higher education.

Links below are for free resources aimed to aid teachers - this is you now, so have a read.

One last thing

Don't be so hard on yourselves people, we are all new to this, no matter how long it's been going on.
So... have that extra glass of wine if you feel a bit shit. Slob out on the sofa with a load of junk food and a crap film. Stay on the phone that extra half hour to chat to ya bestie (after all, they need you too).
